Miles Nelson Announces Record-Breaking Fundraising
(Carmel, IN) – Pre-election campaign finance reports to be filed Friday with the Hamilton County Clerk’s Office will show Miles Nelson raised a record-breaking $330,649 during the last reporting period, between April 8 and October 13. So far this cycle he has raised nearly $460,000 and his campaign enters the homestretch with an impressive $117,681 cash on hand.
Miles’ fundraising success since April's report is powered by grassroots supporters, including more than 1,000 gifts from nearly 750 unique donors. A remarkable 62% of all donations this reporting period were $100 or lower.
“I’m humbled by the support of my friends and neighbors, who believe in this campaign and my vision for how to keep Carmel moving forward,” said Nelson. “Because of their commitment, we have the necessary resources to compete and finish strong over the next few weeks.”
In the period post-debate, Miles’ report will show skyrocketed fundraising, bringing in more than $80,000 during this short window, including gifts from more than 180 first-time donors to the campaign.
The report will also dispel rumors continually spread by Sue Finkam and her team about the source of Miles’ fundraising success. More than 93% of the donations received were from donors who reside in Indiana. Since April, he received 9 donations (totaling $2200) from Washington DC., which includes a $2000 check from the IBEW and six small gifts from former staffers of US Senator Joe Donnelly.
